There’s another famous Middleton in the family way. Pippa Middleton is expecting her first baby, revealing she avoided the severe morning sickness her sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, suffered.
There was speculation Pippa was pregnant in April before her sister Kate Middleton gave birth to her third baby, Louis. But the 34-year-old has now officially confirmed the news in a fitness column she pens for Waitrose Weekend magazine.
“I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness,” she wrote. “That meant I was able to carry on as normal”.
Staying fit with a baby bump
Pippa says she plans to detail her pregnancy workouts in her column, as she revealed how she’s staying fit while expecting.
“This being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered,” she wrote.”I wanted to know things like, would I strain if I served in tennis, are all strokes of swimming safe, can I still do a normal yoga class if I avoided certain positions? Could I still work my abs?
“It’s particularly hard in the early months when you don’t really want to share the news with everyone, not even your class instructor.”
While she says she’s adapted her workouts, Pippa said she has given up jogging because she, “liked the idea of giving my body (and growing baby) a rest from pavement pounding.”

Pippa, who married hedge fund manager James Matthews in May last year, says while she’s also giving strenuous abs pull-ups a rest, she’s conscious of holding her tummy in to support her back and, “ensure that post-baby, my old favourite jeans will still fit … eventually.”
“I’ve noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it’s being strengthened.”
