I have a child who just can’t sit still. From the minute she opens her eyes in the morning, she’s wiggling, giggling, running, skipping, balancing, jiggling and hopping from foot-to-foot. So I love the idea of a learning activity that makes use of all that restless energy.
Janod‘s YogaMe ABC ($39.95) teaches kids to make letter shapes using their bodies. The kit contains instructions, a flip chart to show the poses and a mini whiteboard for keeping track of their progress. Picture cards show kids how to angle their limbs and how long to hold the pose for. This sounds like way more fun than trying to teach the alphabet with a set of flash cards: they’ll be learning yoga, flexing their muscles and training their brains all at once.
