With the silly season fast approaching, get a last taste of quiet family fun before the ceremonial chaos begins! This weekend we’re planning to get our craft on, cuddle some fur seals and hang out with our favourite duffle-coated bear. Hope you’re going to have as much fun as we are! Happy Friday y’all!
We want to VISIT: the fur seals at Phillip Island
If you think tiny penguins are old hat, then Phillip Island has a new attraction you’ll love! Two different EcoBoat Adventures launch this week, heading out to see the fur seal colony and – if you’re lucky – maybe a whale or an orca! (Ages 4+)
We want to MAKE: A printable tree house!
This three floor Christmas tree doll house is super easy to make out of things you already have around the house – just grab the templates from Mr Printables, trace, tape and play! Peg dolls and mini furniture add a homely touch.
We want to EAT: Tassie toasties!
372 years ago, a chap named Abel Tasman pulled his boat up on Van Diemen’s Land. Of course, we know now that he didn’t discover much of anything – there were plenty of people there already – but the name seems to have stuck. Happy birthday-ish, Tassie! Okay, so we just wanted an excuse to make peanut butter quoll toast.
We want to READ: Snow
Walter de la Mare’s beautiful poem Snow comes to life in this new Christmas picture book, illustrated by Carolina Rabei. Pick it up in heirloom hardcover for the perfect gift. ($24.99).
We want to SEE: Paddington Bear
Hide the marmalade – everyone’s favourite duffle-coated bear, Paddington, is coming to the big screen this week. Check out the trailer and session times and pack your suitcase!
