Not all dolls are made for the great outdoors, but Tasmanian artist Sonia Singh is making it her mission to give abandoned dolls a new lease of ‘natural’ life. Rather than running around in high heels and pigtails, you’ll find Sonia’s dolls climbing trees, foraging for berries and flying kites in the garden.
Collected from tips and op shops around Tasmania, Sonia removes all their make-up, plumped up lips and fake lashes, giving their face a more down to earth, natural look. While her mother knits and sews the most adorable little clothes to complete the makeunder and the end result is simply breathtaking.
Take a look at Sonia’s tumbler account – she sure has a big heart for turning pretty dolls into pretty awesome adventurers!
