Salty sea dogs are not generally known for their fashion sense. But these old dogs of the sea have taken on new life as the namesake for the new Duke of London collection for Autumn/Winter 2016. And we are certainly all aboard!
As you may be able to guess, the new Salty Sea Dogs collection has a nautical flavour. The classic themes are there – gorgeous navy, stripes, toggles and anchors – but they have be given the Duke of London treatment. And by that, we mean they look super cool!
The lady behind the label is Queensland mum of two lads (Duke and London no less!) Kiri Proctor. Unexcited by the fashion available for boys, Kiri took to her sewing machine. A Facebook snap of her son in one of her early designs started the ball rolling, and today she is the creative force behind an internationally renowned fashion label for boys aged six months to six years.
The latest collection has all the features that we love about Duke of London – it is cheeky and fashion-forward but we also know our boys will be super comfortable racing around. Just ask Kourtney Kardashian’s son Mason, who has been photographed in Kiri’s designs!
We adore the Trench ($79.95) in gorgeous navy with billowy batwings and cute toggles. And – bonus – it’s reversible! The Captain hooded vest ($44.95) is perfect for layering as the days grow chillier and the Long Stripes top ($39.95) will keep busy arms warm.
The famous Hammer pants also get a nautical reworking. This collection includes an ocean blue boho print pant in a cotton-spandex blend and a fun mixed print pant in a bamboo-cotton blend (both $49.95).
Check out Kiri’s gorgeous boys in this video. These little salty sea puppies have obviously got the fashion gene from their mum.
