Throw the kids’ bikes in the boot this weekend and take a trip to Sydney Park at St Peters. The amazing bike track is just the start of the adventures that await – we predict that this place will become your kids’ number one requested hang out!
Built exactly like the roads we drive on – it even has gutters – the bike track is a mini-cyclist’s dream. The kids can fill up their tank at the petrol station or stop at the shop for a bite to eat. And – bonus! – there’s an educational element too, as kids need to follow all the traffic rules and stop at red lights and take off on green.
At 40 hectares, the park itself is humungous! Just picture rolling green hills, picturesque wetlands and the tinkle of creeks flowing through the park. You could get lost in the gorgeous parklands, exploring the paths as they meander through the former brickworks site.
And that’s lost in a good way – the way you feel when you forget your city surrounds and can relax and rejuvenate in the outdoors. Not to mention, all that outdoors will let your kids burn up their energy!
The newly refurbished all-abilities play area has so much to see and do. There are things to climb, sand to explore and water to get wet. The giant slide is a fun climb up the hill and is big enough for daring mums and dads to go along for the ride.
Haven’t had your morning coffee yet? Re-caffeinate at the cafe inside the park. And speaking of food, the spacious grassy areas, tables and BBQs are begging to be picnic-ed on, so you can pack a lunch and stay all day. There are also toilet facilities and parking (but keep in mind that spaces are limited).
We guarantee that once you check this place out you will definitely go back!
