Warm up those snowball throwing muscles, because The Big Freeze is coming to Melbourne! This new indoor family winter festival is launching in July 2016 and it is all about SNOW (of the white, fluffy variety, not the brooding, Jon variety).
The Big Freeze will run from July 2-10 at Cranbourne Racecourse. The best news is, all activities will be indoors and protected from the weather so your snow bunnies can still get out the house and get active, no matter the weather.
The festival boasts nine interactive kid zones including the snow pit, magical snowfall forest, giant snow globe photo booth, junior snow village, inflatable winter slide, superhero training academy, beginners’ snowboarding classes, construction zone, arts and crafts, stage performances, kids’ workshops and conservation play. Parents and carers can even take a free CPR training session.
Ticket prices include access to all activities PLUS a 4 Park Pass to Phillip Island Nature Parks (valid until Christmas). So pat yourself on the back, because with one ticket you have both the July and September school holidays sorted.
Bookings are essential for the snow play sessions, which start every half hour. When purchasing your festival tickets, book in for your preferred snow play session time. Your ticket then provides access to all the festival zones and activities for the rest of your visit. With so many things to do, you’ll need at least 2 to 3 hours for your visit.
There will be fresh snow three times daily, so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
