When Melbourne mum, Beth Caple went along to a production of The Book of Mormon, she was expecting an entertaining outing with her three-month-old. Instead the new mum was booted out of the audience!
Beth says staff were helpful when she first arrived at the popular production, swapping her level three seat for a ground level one to make things easier with the pram.
However, Beth’s experience soured when people started staring and an usher asked her to leave after breastfeeding George to sleep. Apparently the producers were worried that George would start crying, despite him being quiet as a mouse.
Beth told radio station 3AW, “I was thrown aback… I’m a mother. I’m should be able to feel like I can attend these things just as much as anyone else… If I knew that my baby was one to just go off and cry, obviously I would never have put myself in that situation… He is a very good sleeper.”
A good sleeper with a not-so-good review of the show!
