Isn’t it amazing what a bit of black spray paint, a rusted bike chain and an old breast pump can do to the iconic Little Tykes Cozy Coupe.
Just ask Ian and Emily Pfaff, the parents responsible for creating the ultimate Mad Max: Fury Road vehicles for their two young children, Junior, 2 and Benji, 5 months.
Starting with two rundown Little Tykes Cozy Coupes, the parents rummaged through their house for parts to transform the iconic coupes into post-nuclear apocalypse escape cars for Junior and Benji.
How did the talented twosome pull it off? We’ve got the inside scoop right here.
The Making of the Mad Max mobiles
Some of the items that were repurposed for the Cozy Coupe makeover include an expresso machine and computer parts.
For the steering wheel, the father added a bike chain to authenticate the look. After all, what’s more badass than chains?
As for the exhaust pipes? Emily donated an old breast pump which was then spray painted and added to the car. Liquid gold!
Oh but it gets better! Because Emily, who is a painter, also designed this post-apocalyptic sippy cup that even Imperator Furiosa would be envious of.
And let’s not forget about the creepy robot attached to the headlights.
Fury of mini Mad Max fans
It goes without saying that the California couple are clearly Mad Max superfans. Ironically, little Junior was born the day before the release of Mad Max: Fury Road (back in 2015), thus ruining Ian’s plans to see it opening night.
Nonetheless, the family had a blast making the machines together.
Emily even made daughter, Junior a matching outfit that is just as extreme as the car and the little daredevil is already enjoying being behind the wheel.
These two badass siblings are clearly in for a ride of their lives (once little Benji is able to sit up without assistance, of course).
