There is no right or wrong when it comes to parenting. But there is a right and wrong way to carry a baby capsule. And, as it turns out, most of us have been doing it wrong this entire time!

Chiropractor and expectant mum, Dr. Emily Puente, shows us the right way to carry a baby capsule which not only eliminates the awkwardness but also reduces any back pain that these heavy baby seats can cause.

Baby capsules. They are a blessing from the parenting gods, making it easier to transport the precious cargo from A to B (and without waking them up). Most parents hook their arms through the handle to carry the capsule, balancing the thing in the crook of their elbow. But there is a much easier way to do it!

Baby capsule carrying hack

As shown in the video above, the “right” way to carry a capsule involves shifting your body weight. This takes the strain off your shoulder, hip, knee and upper back. Simply loop the arm closest to the car seat under the handle, grab the rear of the seat with the same hand and voila!

Dr. Emily Puente of the Bridge Family Chiropractic in Mansfield, Texas shared her capsule carrying hack. “It’s not going to hurt your shoulder, it’s not going to hurt your hip, and you’re not going to have to use your knee to swing like I had to do with my two [kids],” explains Dr Emily.

Millions of mums and dads have seen the video, tried her trick and experienced the “a-ha” moment of realising that it is possible to carry a bulky baby carrier without looking lopsided, uncomfortable and ridiculously awkward.

With so many different makes and models of car seats, it is likely that this method may not work for all seats
