Kmart toy testers

Ask any kid what their dream job is, and toy tester is right up there in the top three (professional chocolate eater and YouTuber are in the mix too).

So when the younger members of the Mum’s Grapevine team were asked to test out the latest and greatest toys from Kmart, they only had to think about it for a millisecond before losing their little minds.

Come and find out what it’s like to be a Kmart toy tester, and see what our little ones loved in the toy lab.

Soft toys and wooden wonders

Eight-year-old Oscar and six-year-old Archie made a beeline for a pile of plush toys, heaving with colourful, cute characters. They set about injecting their own personality into each puppet and soft toy – it seems kids are never too old to play with childhood favourites.

Eventually, Archie tore himself away from the plushies and became engrossed in the wooden toy section. He adored the bright yellow Wooden School Bus ($15) with its peg doll-inspired students.

But there was one toy that really stole his heart – an all-in-one Wooden Tabletop Kitchen ($19). This beauty packs away into itself for brilliant easy storage (totally mum-approved!).

Ten-year-old Willie was in his element testing out everything in sight – including this awesome Unicorn Costume ($20) which goes up to size four – but apparently a ten-year-old can fit just fine!

The Mum’s Grapevine team loved being part of this amazing event – we spoke to the movers and shakers and decision makers from Kmart HQ who are the brains behind the toys. The Kmart team took note of how our kids played with the toys, what they liked and what they thought could be improved. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
