Prince William and Kate Middleton’s bouncing baby boy has a name – and it’s a regal as you’d expect of a little prince – albeit a surprise to everyone.
Kensington Palace announced in a statement just minutes ago that the third child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is named Louis Arthur Charles.

The 8lbs 7oz prince was born in London on Monday, with mum Kate leaving the hospital looking radiant just seven hours after giving birth.
The bookies had been throwing around several name front-runners ahead of today’s announcement – including Arthur, Albert, Philip, Thomas and Edward. The fifth-in-line to the British throne, little Louis is the younger brother of equally-regally named Prince George, four and Princess Charlotte, two. Both George Alexander Louis and Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’s traditional names are tributes to previous members of the royal family.
And like any growing family, it seems the Royals are just as nervous as the rest of us when it comes to juggling their little ones. Prince William told reporters as he left the hospital that while he is ‘very happy, very delighted’ he also has ‘thrice the worry now’.
