Closing down sales at Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us stores around Australia begin today, after the company announced on Wednesday it’s close all 44 stores around the nation.
The websites for both stores are no longer accepting online orders, instead directing customers to the in-store only closing down sale.
The sale is wiping up to 30 per cent off storewide, with some limited exceptions. And the 30 per cent can be taken off the lowest ticketed price, meaning there will be some big bargains to be had.
End of an era
Earlier this week it was revealed administrators failed to secure a buyer for the Australian stores, the closures set to leave 700 people out of work. Stock is being liquidated in sales at the stores before they shut down in the next few weeks.
The online ordering system is now closed, with administrators McGrathNicol saying open online orders will be delivered to customers if goods have been paid for in full and the stock is available.
Anyone who has a gift card can use them until July 5, as long as they spend an additional, equivalent amount. So to use a $100 gift card, customers must spend another $100 in store. Lay-bys will be honoured until July 5, as long as the outstanding balance is paid and the stock is available.
