Product Recall: Teething rattles and dummy chains

Dummy chains and teething rattles sold nationwide via Facebook are being recalled due to a choking risk.

The chains and teethers have silicone beads that may become loose and be a hazard to babies.

Dummy chain recall

Products: Dummy Chains – Silicon beads attached to a clip and then to baby’s clothing for dummy to be attached to. Teething Rattle – Silicon beads with wooden rings attached for baby to chew on to relieve teething pain.

Where was the product sold: Via Sabiha Designs on Facebook nationally between 24 February 2018 – 13 June 2018.

Defect: Products do not comply with relevant mandatory standards Consumer Goods (Babies’ Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard 2017 and Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 — Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age. Beads can come loose from the products.

Hazard: If the beads come loose, they present a choking hazard to babies and young children.

What to do: Consumers who have purchased the product will be sent an envelope to return the product. A full refund will be provided.
