Australia’s consumer watchdog has warned a popular range of dummies is being sold without proper warning labels, prompting a choking concern.

3 little birds — BIBS Baby Dummies in a range of colours.

Where was the product sold:

Retailers in-store and online nationally between 1 May 2018 – 22 December 2018.

Defect: The ACCC says the dummies don’t comply with the Australian mandatory standard Consumer Goods (Babies Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard 2017 as a warning label and instructions were not included on product packaging.

Hazard: No warning and directions provided to customers. A torn or broken dummy may pose a choking hazard to children and a cord or ribbon attached to a dummy may pose a strangulation hazard.

What should you do: Consumers should immediately contact the supplier for a copy of the correct information.
