While spring is usually associated with the sneezes and sniffles of allergies, science says that it’s actually a great month to be born if you want to avoid allergies. A British study found that there’s an increased risk of allergies, hay fever, asthma and eczema in tots born in autumn, with babies born in spring at least risk. Breath easy little ones!
Other boffins have crunched the data to discover how birth dates impact future employment. Turns out, your September-born bub is most likely to be a CEO. Science also says that spring babies are eternal optimists. They score high on the hyperthymia scale, which means they can often see an upside to every bad situation.
If you’re yet to have your baby, the news is that spring babies tend to be of average birth weight – the largest bubs are born in summer, the smallest in winter.
What about sleep? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but studies have shown that spring babies tend to fall asleep later than those born in the autumn and winter. So get ready for some late nights, mumma!
