Milk recalled

Milk sold at Woolworths, Coles and IGA is being recalled, amid fears of an E. coli contamination.

Lion Dairy & Drinks is recalling its Dairy Farmers 1L Full Cream white milk products with a Use by Date of 25/02/2020 and its Dairy Farmers 3L Full Cream white milk products with a Use by Date of 24/02/2020 which was made and sold in New South Wales due to potential microbial contamination (E. coli).

“This is a food safety issue. As this may cause illness if the product is consumed, Lion Dairy & Drinks immediately moved to recall the products from market,” the company said.

The impacted products were manufactured at the Lion Dairy & Drinks’ Penrith dairy manufacturing site and have been distributed for sale across New South Wales through Coles, Woolworths and IGA stores and some independent outlets (i.e. milk bars, cafes and convenience stores).

This recall does not impact other Dairy Farmers dairy products made in New South Wales or in other states.

What should you do if you’ve consumed the milk?

Lion Dairy & Drinks says anyone who has consumed the Dairy Farmers 3L or 1L Full Cream white milk product made and sold in New South Wales with the impacted Use by Dates and who feels unwell should seek medical advice.

Anyone who has the impacted products should not consume them but dispose of the product and call the Lion Dairy & Drinks Consumer Enquiries Centre on 1800 677 852 for a full refund.
