Pretty much every child at some stage has had a spin in a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, and their parents probably did too. It’s a classic ride-on toy that’s been around from more than 30 years. It’s a chance for little kids to feel like a real grown-up, ‘driving’ around your driveway.
And now there’s an adult-sized version and we’re smitten.
Mechanic John Bitman, from Attitude Autos in the UK, and some friends created the adult Cozy Coupe over five months, and ended up with a street-legal nod to the a piece of childhood nostalgia.
“I just thought, what a wonderful idea to make something like that, but real,” John told the BBC.
The car started out life as a Daewoo Matiz, and was crafted into what the group called the Toytown Coupe. It can fit two adults, cost around $7000 and more than 1000 hours of work. And then it was put up for sale on eBay for a cool $40,000 to raise money for charity.

With its yellow roof and red base, it’s hard to miss the original Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. The handle on the back means parents can push it along, and the ignition and petrol cap make it feel like a real car.
