How to prepare for Amazon Prime Day 2020

Amazon Prime Australia

Amazon is still relatively new to the Aussie retail landscape and while many people are already seasoned shoppers, some of us are still finding our feet on the platform. If you want in on all the Prime Day action this year, take a peek at our tips for how to get yourself prepared for the event.

Set up or update your account – It goes without saying that you need your own account to be able to shop on Amazon Australia. If you’re yet to join, do this before Prime Day kicks off so that you are ready to click ‘add to cart’ and get through the checkout fast. If you’re already an Amazon member, give your details the once-over to ensure your delivery address and credit card details are up to date.

Join Amazon Prime – Prime Day deals are available only to prime members, so if you want to grab yourself a deal or ten, make sure you’ve signed up ahead of time. Amazon Prime is free for the first month, and as low as $6.99 per month after the trial. Among other perks, it includes free standard shipping on every order and access to Prime Video (hello bingefests!). If you’re not sure if Amazon Prime will be right for you, the good news is that you can cancel at any time.

Make your list and check it twice – There’s a very good reason why Prime Day has become such a massive global event: the deals are epic and there are bucket-loads of them! To avoid getting lost in the sea of offers, have your shopping list ready to rock on October 13th so that you can head directly to the deals that matter to you.

Get familiar with ‘Lightning Deals’ – Unlike ‘Deals of the Day’, which despite their name can run for several days, Lightning Deals have a limited lifespan, and once stock is gone, it’s gone for good. Some of the hottest deals of Prime Day are Lightning Deals, so make sure you are familiar with how to find them on the main menu.

Download the Amazon Australia mobile app – That way, whether you’re in line at the supermarket or curled up on the couch, you’ve got access to Prime Day deals as soon as they pop up. The mobile app also allows you to turn on notifications for hot deals so that you are alerted the second they go live.

Look out for early deals – Early deals are known to drop in the days leading up to Prime Day. Keep this page handy – we’ll make sure you don’t miss a thing.
