A mum who is about to have her 11th baby in just 10 years says she’s not done having kids yet.
Courtney Rogers, 36, and her pastor husband Chris, 32, are set to welcome baby number 11 next month – their fifth little girl. Incredibly, over the last decade, the longest the busy mum has gone without being pregnant is nine months.
Among her brood of children, Courtney has had just one set of twins, with three pairs of siblings born less than 12 months apart. And every member of the Rogers clan has a name that starts with ‘C’.
The Rogers children:
- 13 March 2010 – Clint (8lbs 14oz)
- 26 July 2011 – Clay (7lbs 13oz)
- 16 September 2012 – Cade (6lbs 9oz)
- 25 July 2013 – Callie was born weighing 4lbs 8oz
- 24 October 2014 – Cash was born weighing 7lbs 6oz
- 12 September 2015 – Twins Colt (4 lbs 6 oz) and Case (3lbs 8oz)
- 9 May 2017 – Calena (6 lbs 6oz)
- 10 June 2018 – Caydie (7lbs 9oz)
- 6 June 2019 – Coralee (8lbs 9oz)
The family lives on a farm in New Mexico, US, with Courtney not only juggling the demands of 10 children, but also homeschooling.
“I love being pregnant,” Courtney explained. According to Metro, she has never suffered from morning sickness and chooses not to use birth control. “I love growing another person inside me, thinking about what they will be like and picking out names. I am the only mum at our church who has lots of kids. I think the most anyone else has is four. But I have never been comfortable going on birth control, as I don’t like the idea of taking a pill and I love having a big family.”
Courtney and Chris met at a church camp in 2007, and married a year later. Their first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, and five months later they had their first son, Clint.
“We want to have 12 children, a family of 14 even.” Courtney said. “My husband is the eldest of 10, so before we got married, he joked about having as many children as his mum had. The kids want us to be like the film Cheaper by the Dozen, where the parents compromise their careers to raise 12 children.”
The family says it’s looking forward to adding its 13th member in November. “Having several kids in diapers at once and lots of strollers is normal life to us.”
