Pregnant women are being warned that coleslaw sold in Woolworths stores in NSW, Victoria, and the ACT could be contaminated with salmonella.
Product description: Woolworths Coleslaw 110g, 250g, 400g and 800g
Best before dates: All Use By dates from 12 Jan up to and including 21 Jan.
Impacted stores: Woolworths is conducting a product recall of Woolworths Coleslaw 110g, 250g, 400g & 800g that have been for sale at Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro in NSW and the ACT and some Woolworths Supermarkets in regional Vic (listed below):
- Albury Central
- Golden Square
- Yarrawonga Central
- Bendigo Market Place
- Kerang, Cobram
- Swan Hill
- Lansell Plaza
- Shepparton East
- Airport West
Problem: The recall is due to potential microbial (salmonella) contamination. Food products with potential microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed.
What to do: Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

What are the symptoms of salmonella infection?
Symptoms of salmonella infection can be experienced between six and 72 hours after exposure and symptoms usually last for three to seven days.
- stomach cramps
- loss of appetite
Anyone who develops these symptoms and is concerned should see their doctor, particularly young children, older people, pregnant women and people who are immunocompromised because they are at risk of more severe illness.
