Recall: Playgro baby rattle choking hazard

Playgro Rattles Recall

Popular baby rattles sold nationally in Myer, Chemist Warehouse and Baby Bunting stores are being recalled due to a potential choking hazard. The Playgro rattles may release small beads that pose choking or suffocation hazard for babies.

Product description: Clip Clop Activity Rattle (blue) and Clopette Activity Rattle (pink) are soft toy horses with an abacus ring with three beads attached to the back, two rattle feet and a mirrored bottom.

This recall only affects batch numbers 009837, 009986, 010066 and 010199. The batch number can be found at the top of the product’s tag. Barcode number 9321104011459 and 9321104833037.

Playgro Clip Clop Rattle recall

Defects: The abacus ring on the horse’s back may dislodge and release the small beads.

Hazards: Small parts may pose a choking or suffocation hazard for young children.

What should you do: Stop using the rattles and contact Playgro to organise for a replacement. For more information contact Playgro by phone on 03 8558 2000 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm).

Where was the product sold: Nationally at Myer, Chemist Warehouse and Baby Bunting between 1 August 2020 and 31 January 2021.
