“Happy 1st Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after laboring for almost three days gave birth to our first child – our gorgeous daughter, George,” she wrote. “Welcome to the world, baby girl. We love you and we thank you for giving us the best 1st Mother’s Day two ladies could ask for.”
Lauren shared the same photo, saying, “Four weeks ago today, our daughter came into the world and changed everything. We are so happy, so grateful, and so tired.”
The couple has been married since March 2017, after meeting on the set of Orange Is The New Black. Lauren was a writer and Samira played the part of inmate Poussey Washington. Samira has most recently starred in The Handmaid’s Tale, which won her an Emmy for best guest actress in a drama series in 2018.
