Buckingham Palace has announced Princess Beatrice has given birth to her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The Royal Family took to social media to reveal the details of the highly-anticipated birth: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.
The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.

“The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”

Beatrice, 33, is already a step mum to Wolfie, her husband’s son from a previous relationship. Their first baby together is the 12th great-grandchild for the Queen.

Princess Beatrice’s little one is the latest member of a mini Royal baby boom. Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie welcomed a baby boy named August Philip Hawke Brooksbank earlier this year. And Zara Tindall, Princess Anne’s daughter, also gave birth earlier in 2021, naming her third child Lucas Philip. Both babies carry the middle name of their grandfather, the late Prince Philip.

And the Queen’s granddaughter-in-law and grandson, Meghan and Prince Harry, welcomed baby girl Lilibet Diana in June this year.
