Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac and his partner, fashion stylist Rebecca James have welcomed their first child, a little girl, named Margot Grace McMillan.
Taking to Instagram early today, Sam captured his announcement …
“It’s a girl 💖 Margot Grace McMillan. This is a love I never even knew existed. I’m overwhelmed & still processing it all right now. My girls. Wow. @rebeccajames_stylist was (& is) a warrior. I will never forget what she endured over the past 9 months, & particularly the past few days for our little family. Unbelievable strength. What a woman 🙌🏼 There will be a separate post about that soon.
“In the meantime I just want to say a heartfelt thanks to @drmorris_sydneymotherandbaby (the rock star of the delivery ward) & team. I’m the happiest man on the planet right now 🌎 if anyone needs me, my schedule for the next little while will be

Margot, a french name means ‘pearl’ whilst her middle name, Grace is of Latin origin, meaning “goodness” and “generosity.”
The couple announced the pregnancy on Instagram with a funny post of Bec holding a phone with Sam’s face on it. Ever the jovial funnyman, this is fitting announcement for Sam McMillan who was a Gold Logie nominee in 2019.
He captioned it:

Keen observers of Aussie pop culture would notice similarities between this announcement and that of radio host Kyle Sandilands, who recently welcomed his baby boy with Tegan Kynaston.
Rebecca, owner of The Stylist Says, shared a similar photo to Sam’s, but instead of Sam’s face on her phone it displayed her ultrasound picture:

Sam, 40 and Rebecca (Bec) met in 2021 after being introduced by a mutual friend. Shortly after, the couple shared that they had purchased their first home together, a white weatherboard house in Sydney.
It’s been a treat for followers since the pregnancy announcement with Sam gushing over Bec and his soon-to-be-born child, plus sharing how he and Bec have been preparing for the new baby.

And in this one, we get to see the making of ‘The world’s largest Cheesymite scroll’ – an apt present for Bec in fulfilling her pregnancy cravings. Nice reference to a bun being in the oven too, Sam! Are you ready for a good laugh? Here we see Sam undertaking the challenge of changing his first nappy live on air, outdoors in his weather presenting stomping ground, complete with change table!
In this hilarious video we see him ‘absolutely nailing’ changing little Harry’s dirty nappy with the help of some GAIA baby wipes. And we can’t wipe the smiles off our faces seeing co-hosts Edwina Bartholomew and Kochie laughing from the studio.
Sam commented to Harry’s mum:

It’s always lovely to see different maternity fashion, and with Bec being a fashion stylist we’re not surprised at her sophisticated, effortless style. We’re especially loving the black pant suit with bump on display.
In this video about prepping the nursery, Sam shares that it was completed in 4 days (with 37 trips to Bunnings). We like the commentary style approach with Bec as Project Manager and Sam being relegated to lunch duty after trying his hand at painting.
We also spy some lovely nursery details including a book about the weather, Sam’s own book ‘Accidental Weatherman’ on the shelf and the stunning view from the window overlooking Sydney Harbour.
