Married at First Sight alumni Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have welcomed their beautiful baby into the world, a little baby boy named Lucius Brunelli.

The couple introduced baby Lucius to the world in a joint post made on Instagram showing the freshly born bub swaddled in his hospital bassinet. They wrote:

“Lucius Brunelli.
He’s here, he’s perfect.”

The little Pisces baby‘s name ‘Lucius’ (pronounced loo·shuhs) is derived from the Latin word ‘Lux’ meaning “light” and “brightness”. The unique baby name is not a name you hear every day but Harry Potter fans may recognize the name from their favourite book series.

Martha has been extremely active on her social media capturing and sharing almost every moment throughout her pregnancy with her followers.

Back in November of 2022, the reality star shared a ‘photo dump’ captioned: “One week closer… 👩🏻‍🍼” with a collection of photos and videos of her pregnancy up until that point.

The following month in December of 2022 the couple attended an event in Sydney where Martha showed off her pregnant belly in a full-length black dress with cut-outs surrounding her bump.

For Christmas, the couple posted a sweet pic of them posing by the pool, Martha in a bikini showing off her growing bump. She captioned the picture:

“Final Xmas before it’s a party of 3. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all ❤️”

In the middle of January Martha got super real with her followers, discussing the real trial and tribulations around being pregnant – especially in your third trimester.

In her caption, the 30-year-old mum-to-be talked about the symptoms she’d been dealing with and how in general she was feeling completely over being pregnant.

“Thought I’d leave this here, so many positive replies… incase anyone else needs to read! ⁣⁣I don’t know how I can be so up and down.⁣⁣ I felt ok yesterday but today I literally feel like⁣ I’m dying.⁣⁣

Last week I spent 4 days straight in the house on⁣⁣ the couch.⁣⁣ I thought maybe covid but I just did a test it’s⁣⁣
negative⁣⁣ I have a sore throat, no energy AT ALL. ⁣
⁣
I’m hot and⁣ cold. Don’t want to get out of bed⁣. ⁣I forced myself to get up and go get food just for⁣⁣
some momentum,⁣ but I couldn’t even get myself out of⁣ the car once we arrived.⁣⁣

Yesterday my due date was pushed back to the 6th of⁣ March⁣ an extra week!⁣⁣ Every hour feels like a day⁣ I have work commitments looming over my head and⁣ can’t help but feel like I’ve completely neglected⁣ everything I worked so hard to build.⁣⁣

I feel like I’m at breaking point.⁣⁣

I need to vent, I⁣ spend all my waking hours sitting⁣⁣ alone with my own thoughts⁣ which are grim atm.⁣⁣ I know how lucky I am and what a miracle it is to⁣ carry a child.⁣⁣

All I’ve felt for 8 months is suffering.⁣ ⁣I want to scream!⁣⁣

I’ve completely lost myself. I feel like I’ll never⁣⁣ feel normal or like myself again!⁣⁣ I know I’m hormonal. Whatever that means!!!⁣⁣

I feel like a selfish bitch even writing this but⁣⁣ in the hope I’m not alone Im sharing with you.”

A few days later it was back to her regular style of ‘cheeky’ content with a photo captioned: “I hope this kid is hungry 🍼” in reference to going up quite a few cup sizes.

In the days leading up to Lucius’ birth, the couple seemed to take a small getaway, posing in the mirror of what seems like a hotel room, Martha looking super comfortable in the hotel robe. She wrote:

“The last hoorah”

Finally in her last post before becoming a family of three, Martha let her followers know that baby Brunelli was on the way. With a number of photos and videos of her holding up a tiny onesie and the bags in the back of their car she captioned:

“Bags are packed, we’re off! See you all soon… plus one 🐣.”

Congratulations to both Martha and Michael on the birth of their little one making his way earthside, we know it wasn’t the easiest ride but like many other Mummas out there appreciate how open and real the couple has been throughout the duration of their pregnancy. We cannot wait to watch this family grow together.

Married at First Sight stars Martha Kalifatidis (30) and Michael Brunelli (31) are expecting their first baby together.

Taking to Instagram, the couple announced the exciting news in a casual video posted to both of their accounts.

“It’s time we explained our absence ❤️ Thank you to everyone that has reached out to us, we really do appreciate it.” they captioned.

In the video, the couple explained their two-month hiatus from social media, letting fans know that with it being too early to announce they thought it would be better to step back a little.

Martha goes on to explain that although they are super grateful to be expecting their first baby together, it hasn’t exactly been easy. She explains that she has been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), and has been suffering from the symptoms over the last few months.

“I literally did not get out of bed for two months. I was so sick. I could not eat or drink anything. There were days I didn’t even get up to pee. We’ve just been in and out of the emergency room and hospital.”

Thanks to medication prescribed by her doctor Martha lets viewers know that she is starting to feel human again.

The couple began their relationship in 2019 on the set of Married at First Sight where they met for the first time at the alter.

Following the commencement of the sixth season of MAFS, it seemed to fans that the relationship between the influencer and primary school teacher was legitimate as they continued to grow stronger following the months after the show.

Michael who quit teaching to focus on his personal training program moved to Sydney to be with Martha and after two years of dating the couple announced in December 2021 that they were engaged to be married for real.

“Mrs B” Martha wrote under a picture of the pair, flashing a brand new engagement ring sitting on her left hand.
