GAIA Cradle Cap Lotion Reviews
We asked a group of Grapeviner mums from the Mum’s Grapevine Facebook Baby Groups, all with children who have cradle cap, to try GAIA Cradle Cap Lotion along with the GAIA Newborn Foaming Wash for two weeks.
Here’s what they had to say, and the before and after results*.
Grapeviner mum Carlee and, 3.5 month old Alya
“My favourite thing about this product is the built-in brush”
“The GAIA Cradle Cap lotion is a great product. After just a few uses we saw a big improvement in our little one’s cradle cap and after two weeks it is now completely cleared up.
“My favourite thing about this product is the built-in brush. It makes it so easy to apply and use the product and means I don’t have to purchase additional brushes to use it.
“I also love that the product is super gentle on our little one’s sensitive skin. I would definitely purchase this product again.”
Grapeviner mum Alicia, and 5 month old Angus
“The product was easy to use and I absolutely loved the little massager head”
“Cradle cap is a thing I never thought about when having a baby, but something we’ve been blessed with twice. I didn’t use anything with our first bub and it lasted forever. So when I had the chance to try out the GAIA Cradle Cap Lotion, I did not hesitate.
“We have used the lotion for two weeks and noticed an incredible difference. The cradle cap, which looked like scaly dragon skin, started to peel off after the first couple of uses. There were a few days when our son’s head looked a bit questionable with all the flakes all over his hair and the product left in, but the result was definitely worth it. And to be fair, I did do a little extra to make it less noticeable. I would definitely recommend getting a little nitcomb to make the process a bit easier. I just brushed the hair when applying and when in the bath.
“The product itself was easy to use and I absolutely loved the little massager head, which is twistable so no product is dispensed when locked. Our toddler even helped apply the product in the morning and wash it out in the evening with the GAIA Newborn Foaming Wash and Shampoo.
“I loved how the lotion is super gentle for the delicate skin of babies, while still being incredibly effective and would definitely recommend it to friends and family with little babies.”
Grapeviner mum Beth, and 3 month old Ollie
“After two weeks the cradle cap has gone”
“I used the product on my bub for two weeks and within a matter of days, I noticed an improvement. After two weeks his cradle cap is now completely cleared and his scalp is looking so much better.
“I absolutely love the easy applicator, the silicone brush is fantastic for massaging the product in, Ollie also really likes the feel of it as well. The smell is beautiful and leaves him smelling nice and fresh.”
Grapeviner mum Rhiana, and 4 month old Fletcher
“I would definitely recommend this product”
“Our second son was born with short blonde hair, so his cradle cap showed through much more prominently. I had trialled another brand of cradle cap wash with an adult facial brush however it wasn’t budging. Having a leave-in cradle cap lotion with a built-in brush was a game changer.
“Over a two-week period, we applied the lotion once to twice a day which allowed the cradle cap to soften before utilising the GAIA foaming shampoo wash every so often when bathed. The cream is packaged in a nicely sized container which is easy to hold and allows you to gently apply the cream where required. Utilising the brush in a gentle circular motion helped lift the dead skin.
“Life with two young boys who are two and under means this 2-in-1 cream was quick and easy to use when convenient, and safe to use as it didn’t become cumbersome or take your attention away when bathing the kids, unlike other cradle cap bath washes. I would definitely recommend this product as I was so impressed with the result and will be utilising it on my older son’s cradle cap.”
Grapeviner mum Lauren, and 5.5 month old Liam
“It’s definitely made a massive improvement”
“We used GAIA Cradle Cap lotion for two weeks, we noticed after a few days that the cradle cap had started to clear. We applied it daily to our boy’s head and you can see that his hair is already starting to grow back. It hasn’t completely disappeared but it’s definitely a massive improvement.
“We also used the GAIA shampoo twice a week alongside the cream. The scent is subtle and pleasant and not overwhelming at all. We will continue using the cream and shampoo.”
Grapeviner mum Dusty, and 18 week old Maverick
“We saw results after the first use!”
“I would highly recommend GAIA Cradle Cap lotion to anyone and everyone whose baby has cradle cap. The built-in brush tip means you only need one item to apply it, making it a lot quicker and easier while trying to wrangle your little one.
“I used it twice a day for two weeks but saw results after the first use, it got rid of the bulk of the cradle cap from the first application and then after a few more uses it was all gone. As soon as a new spot would appear I would apply some and that spot then never got bad.”
Grapeviner mum Jessica, and 5 month old Pippa
“It was easy to use and smelt great!”
“After using this product for two weeks we noticed an improvement in the amount of cradle cap present on our daughter’s head after a few uses and after using for the two weeks it cleared up 80% of her cradle cap.
“It was easy to use and smelt great. Something I would suggest is to use it before bed as it stays wet on the child’s head for a while and can appear greasy before it dries. All in all, it is a great product from GAIA and a brand that I already loved.”
Grapeviner mum Erin, and 5 month old Olivia
“I loved that it wasn’t an oil and didn’t get onto clothes or furniture”
“I used the GAIA Cradle Cap lotion for my baby’s cradle cap for two weeks. The bottle with the brush attachment makes it easy to apply and mess-free. I loved that it wasn’t an oil and didn’t get onto clothes or furniture and it didn’t need to be washed out of her hair especially as I didn’t want to be washing her hair every day.
“When I did give her a bath or shower I used the GAIA Foaming Baby Shampoo and a little silicone brush which helped lift up any flakes. I found having a brush helped a bit more than just washing it with the shampoo.
“Since we’ve used the cradle cap lotion her cradle cap is gone and we would definitely recommend it to any parents wanting to easily get rid of the cradle cap.”
Grapeviner mum Michelle, and 6 month old Micha
“It was very gentle on his skin, and smells amazing as well!
“The lotion worked wonders on my son’s dry scalp and cradle cap. The dry skin cleared up after just one use, and the cradle cap disappeared within a week and has not returned.
“I especially loved how the silicone brush on the tip can be used to apply the lotion and loosen the flakes, no need to get messy or use another comb or brush. It was very gentle on his skin, and smells amazing as well!”
Grapeviner mum Tara, and 3 month old Oaklee
“Would 100% suggest others try it!”
“After using GAIA cradle cap lotion for 2 weeks I was pleasantly surprised at how well Oaklee’s cradle cap responded. She previously had quite a thick layer, after using the lotion we found it started to flake away easily and the majority was able to be wiped away.
“A great product especially with the easy-to-apply bristles built in. Would 100% suggest others try it!”
Grapeviner mum Tegan, and 5 month old Oakley
“This product has helped Oakley to enjoy his hair being brushed too”
“We used the product for two weeks and when we started baby was itchy and frustrated with the cradle cap. His scalp was red from the irritation and it was affecting his sleep. We had tried everything and were at our wits’ end.
“Using the foaming shampoo wash along with the daily cradle cap lotion that has a handy built-in rubber scrub brush has cleared it up almost entirely. Oakley is no longer itchy and while there is still some residual cradle cap the bulk is gone. His scalp looks so much healthier.
