Riverside Green Playground

Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue… All the colours of the rainbow are covered at Riverside Green Playground!

Located on South Bank in Brisbane, this riverside playground spells ‘F-U-N’ for toddlers, tikes and teenagers (it’s for ages two to 15).

Opened in October 2015, all is bright and beautiful at the Riverside Green Playground. This playground is all about pumping up the colour and scaling up the fun, which means smiles on dials as kids big and small navigate the exciting play equipment.

We love how the smart design of this playground will not only delight and beguile toddlers, but also amps up the thrills for your tweens and early teens.

This makes it a brilliant meeting place for friends and families with a spread of ages amongst the kidlet brigade.

Boat in Riverside Green Playground South Bank Brisbane is fun for everyone

The tiny people amongst your troop will head straight for the brilliant green pirate ship. You can almost hear their little imaginations whirring as they set sail on the SS Adventure (it’s wheelchair accessible), monkey around on the double swing and zip down the super wide slide, surrounded by a sea of pink.

Speaking of pink, older children will be tickled magenta as they take on the skywalk, scale rope nets, peer out of skycabin lookouts, balance on bridges, shimmy up climbing strips and zoom down slick silver slides.

It’s fast and curious action for over fives!

And for school kids who like air in their hair, the spinning mouse wheel and supernova ring will be big hits too. Just try to do most of the spinning before lunch, because this park is also a great place for a picnic!

With tables and BBQs, plus a lush lawn to stretch out on, it’s a fantastic spot for a family feast. There are drinking fountains and some shaded areas, plus enough action on Brisbane River for a game (or 20) of ‘I Spy’.

And once playtime is over, there are plenty more family-friendly possibilities on South Bank. Chill out at Picnic Island Green, make a splash at Aquativity water park and Streets Beach, find critters at Queensland Museum, get arty at GOMA or take to the sky in The Wheel of Brisbane.

And if you’re there on a Thursday between 9am and 1pm, little ones will love Little Days Out too.

All in all, South Bank is a bright idea for a family day out. And when we say “bright”, we mean “BRIGHT!”
