Professional potty trainer

There are some ingenious ways to teach your toddler to use the toilet, but this mum has to take the cake for creativity.

She’s put the call out for a professional potty trainer to get her three-year-old daughter potty trained in time for Christmas. Like so many parents, she and her husband have tried to get their tot using the loo to no avail, so now they’re outsourcing the job.

Tidy sum for a professional potty trainer

The couple placed an ad on childcare.co.uk, explaining that juggling their careers means they’ve found they don’t have the time to get their little one toilet trained.

“We are very conscious that our daughter should be using a toilet by now, and with the in-laws coming over for Christmas, I am desperate to get her fully using the toilet by the 23rd December,” the ad explains.

“We already have a housekeeper who takes care of our daughter day to day, but we would like someone to solely concentrate on getting her using the toilet! We’d also like the professional to coach us on how to teach our daughter to use the toilet, so we can continue to teach her when they’re not around.”

The parents say they’re looking for someone with a decade of experience in childcare, because their daughter doesn’t respond well to authority. They’re also keen for the candidate to have references attesting to their toilet training experience.

And here’s the kicker – they’re willing to pay a tidy £50 an hour (almost $90) for a professional toilet trainer to have their cherub using the loo in the next couple of weeks. “10 hours of training, over five days per week would be ideal, but we are flexible and are willing to be negotiable for the right person.”

While creative, this rather lucrative job offer isn’t isolated – professional potty trainers are now available in many countries, including Australia. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!
