Snotty little noses can breathe easy with the help of a clever tip Maddelyn from the Mum’s Grapevine Facebook baby group shared that works to clear little congested noses.
We’re often told that putting breastmilk up a baby’s nose helps when they’re congested, but as Maddelyn discovered, it’s easier said than done.
“You mention it to the doctor/health nurse and they all say ‘squirt some breast milk up their nose’. ‘That is a great idea,’ you think to yourself … until you actually try and do it!”
Maddelyn says she’d used up a Fess Little Noses bottle the night before and, “right before I went to throw it out, I had an epiphany! I filled it with breastmilk and used it! Worked great!” The genius mum says her daughter doesn’t mind having it squirted up her nose because it obviously tastes like breastmilk when it goes down the back of her throat.
“I’ve stored it in the fridge and I’m guessing it’ll be good for as long as you can keep freshly expressed breastmilk in the fridge.”
